Dragon Boat Festival
14 June this year is Dragon Boat Festival. During the period just before and after Dragon Boat Festival, citizens will participate in dragon boat races and have glutinous rice dumpling. There are occasions where Chinese characters carry the same pronunciation and meaning while have different appearances, namely variants of Chinese characters, like ‘粽’ in the word of glutinous rice dumpling which has a variant form ‘糉’. Actually ‘糉’ is the original form and ‘粽’ is the simplified variant. The variant ‘粽’ has also been developed a long time ago. It becomes more and more widely used than ‘糉’ in view of its fewer strokes.

寫，不過粽這個寫法也已有很悠久的歷史，由於筆劃比較少，漸漸地比較更廣泛地應用。
